Overview
Sette. is a mobile ordering app built for a fictional upscale Italian restaurant of the same name. The app was developed in .NET MAUI using C# and XAML with a team of five. As both the frontend lead and project manager, I was responsible for the complete visual identity of the app, the design and layout of every screen, and keeping the team's work cohesive from start to finish.
Brand & Visual Identity
The brand was created entirely from scratch. The name, logo, menu, and color palette were all my own design. The palette centers on a deep maroon paired with cream white typography and punctuated by a couple shades of a saturated pink accent. This combination reads as dark and luxurious without feeling too heavy. The logo features a stylized number 7 as the primary mark, with "SETTE." set in a refined serif beneath it, creating a wordmark that doubles as a symbol. The result is a brand identity that feels believable as a real upscale restaurant.
The App Experience
The user flow moves from a login or sign-up screen into a menu, where a dropdown menu allows filtering by food category. Items can be added to a cart, reviewed, and submitted as an order. The navigation between screens was one of my primary frontend responsibilities. I focused on establishing a consistent flow that worked well regardless of which team member had built the underlying functionality.
Frontend Leadership & Collaboration
Working as frontend and team lead on a five person team was challenging, but also very rewarding. I organized and led team meetings, assigned responsibilities based on each member's strengths, and helped with integration where individual contributions came together. When inconsistencies appeared between pages, I resolved them. Managing the gap between design intent and backend implementation was one of the most valuable parts of the project.
